If you are thinking about MIPACE, the basic idea is simple: you choose the information that may help somebody support you, connect it to a physical MIPACE device, and make it available with a tap or scan when it is needed.
Here is the quick version of what happens, what you control and how MIPACE protects the connection.
Was ist MIPACE?
MIPACE connects a profile you control to a physical access point such as a LinkTag, sticker, dot, card or another compatible MIPACE device. The device does not hold a copy of your personal or medical information. It opens the current public view of the profile held on the MIPACE platform.
You decide what to add and what to make public. That might include an emergency contact, communication preferences, allergies, important assistance information or a small number of priority details. Information you keep private is not included in the public view.
One account. Everyone supported.
- Manage multiple profiles from one account
- Keep a separate profile for each person
- Assign the right devices to each profile
- Connect several devices to one profile
- Update once and keep every device current
- No monthly or annual subscription
- Reach emergency contact details instantly
- See priority profile keywords directly beneath the person’s name
Protection around every tap.
- Temporary protected viewing sessions
- 30-minute standard session timeout
- 15-minute child-profile timeout
- Child surnames are never shown publicly
- Profile images move to protected private storage
- Lost devices stop showing the profile immediately
- Every tap creates a unique temporary profile URL
How does somebody open the information?
They simply hold a compatible phone near the MIPACE device. The phone reads the device’s NFC chip and the public profile opens in the browser. No MIPACE app or account is needed.
When an active device is tapped, MIPACE creates a temporary viewing session and records the access in its administrator-only audit trail. That record includes the device, access time, network address, browser information and a unique session reference. It supports security review without displaying those technical details on the public profile.
The viewing link does not stay open indefinitely
The physical MIPACE device keeps its fixed address, but every tap generates a new temporary viewing URL. No two tap sessions use the same URL. A standard profile URL expires absolutely after 30 minutes, while a child-profile URL expires after 15 minutes. Once it has expired, reopening or refreshing the saved link will not restore the profile. The device must be tapped again, creating a different temporary URL and a new protected session.
MIPACE uses practical browser-level controls to deter casual copying and printing. Every tap is also recorded with its access time, IP address, browser information and a unique session reference. No website can reliably prevent somebody using their phone or operating system to take a screenshot, and the current public profile does not place a visible traceable watermark over that screenshot. Only publish information you are comfortable making publicly available.
Extra protection for child profiles
A parent or guardian can create and manage a separate child profile. On its public view, MIPACE displays the child’s first name only and does not reveal their surname. Their date of birth is hidden by default unless the parent or guardian deliberately chooses to show it.
Child-profile viewing sessions expire after 15 minutes rather than 30. The page also explains that the child may be lost or need help, so the information is presented in the right context. Parents remain responsible for deciding what is suitable to make public and should involve the child in those choices where appropriate.
How are profile photographs protected?
When a profile photograph is uploaded, MIPACE moves it into protected private storage. The image is delivered through a controlled media route with security protocols designed to prevent ordinary direct public-file access.
MIPACE administrators can also review and flag profile images through the platform’s security controls. This helps keep image handling protected and gives the MIPACE team a clear process for investigating anything that may require attention.
One account can support the whole family
This is where MIPACE becomes especially powerful. A parent or carer can open one account and create separate profiles for the people they support. One profile might be their own, with additional profiles for children, a partner, an older relative or another person whose information they manage.
Every profile remains separate, with its own public information, contacts and privacy choices. Devices are then assigned to the right person. A child could have a tag on their bag, another child could use a sticker, and the parent could have their own keyring, all managed from the same account.
There is no subscription. You buy the MIPACE devices that suit your family, create the profiles you need and manage them together without a monthly or annual platform charge.
Can one profile work with several devices?
Yes. You can connect multiple MIPACE devices to one profile. For example, the same current profile could be reached from a keyring, a sticker on suitable equipment and a card kept elsewhere. Update the profile once and every active device connected to it opens the updated public information.
Each device still has its own record and status. That means one device can be renamed, managed or reported lost without switching off the others.
What happens if a device is lost?
Sign in, open My MIPACE Devices and report the correct item lost. The change takes effect immediately: that device stops opening the assigned profile and its fixed link sends the visitor to the main MIPACE website instead. Your profile and your other active devices continue to work.
You then have a 30-day recovery period. If you find the item, use Ich habe dieses Gerät gefunden to ask MIPACE to review and restore it. If it is not recovered and approved during that period, it is permanently detached from the account and its old link continues to lead only to MIPACE.
An organisation can provide the device
A school, camp, club, coach or care organisation can own and manage MIPACE devices, then request to connect one to a child or person’s existing profile. The parent, carer or profile owner reviews and approves the request through their personal MIPACE account.
Once approved, the organisation-owned device opens the current information chosen by the profile owner. If the parent updates the child’s emergency contact or support information, the connected device opens that updated public profile. The organisation manages its device, while the family keeps control of the personal information and the organisation cannot edit or view the underlying private profile.
What do I need to remember?
- You control the profile. Add only useful information and choose what is public.
- The device is an access point. It does not carry an editable copy of your information.
- The person helping does not need an account. A compatible phone and connection are normally enough.
- Access is temporary. Standard sessions expire after 30 minutes and child sessions after 15 minutes.
- One profile can serve several devices. Change the information once rather than maintaining separate copies.
- A lost device can be protected immediately. Reporting it lost stops that item opening the profile without affecting the others.
A child becomes separated
MIPACE is not a tracking device and does not replace lost-child or safeguarding procedures. It provides a fast, direct communication route once the child has found appropriate support.

Please note: MIPACE supports access to information chosen by the profile owner. It does not replace emergency services, professional medical advice, first aid, safeguarding or other safety arrangements. A device must be noticed and used with a compatible phone and suitable connectivity. Call 999 in a life-threatening emergency.
